MANIFESTO

Power was never meant to belong only to political insiders, dynasties, or people with the right credentials on paper. It belongs to the people who live with the consequences of policy every day — people who understand their communities because they live in them, work in them, and serve them.Across the country, more everyday people are stepping forward to run for office. They are teachers, healthcare workers, organizers, parents, public servants, and neighbors. They bring lived experience, accountability, and a real understanding of the challenges facing their communities.Too often, these candidates are met not with support, but with barriers — opaque rules, scattered information, insider language, and systems designed for those who already know how power works.People to Power exists to close that gap.Running for office should require more than ambition. It should be grounded in responsibility, preparation, and a clear understanding of what public leadership demands. What it should not require is insider access, inherited networks, or fluency in political jargon. We believe leadership is built through lived experience, service, and accountability. Readiness does not have to look like a traditional political résumé — but it does require seriousness, integrity, and a willingness to learn. We believe people who step up to run for office should understand the responsibilities of governing, the rules that shape campaigns, and the communities they seek to serve.
We believe qualified, values-driven candidates deserve clear guidance, not gatekeeping — and tools that help them compete ethically, responsibly, and effectively.
This work is not about shortcuts.
It is not about vanity campaigns.
It is not about lowering standards.
It is about removing barriers while raising expectations.
People to Power exists to help everyday progressives move from intention to action — informed, prepared, and ready to lead. We translate complexity into clarity, rules into steps, and uncertainty into confidence. We do this by providing a clear, centralized resource that equips first-time and non-traditional candidates with the knowledge, tools, and guidance needed to run serious campaigns and compete to win. This is how power changes hands — not through permission, but through preparation. From the people, to power.
